For those of you so lucky (?) as to have ongoing NIH awards, a notice released today summarizes recent changes/upgrades to the eSNAP (progress report) system and other aspects of the eRA Commons. The Commons also has an ASST level user that allows designated assistants to view the status of electronic submissions, though not summary statements or priority scores. Said ASST will need to sign up for an eRA Commons username in the same way as a PI – through your institution’s sponsored research administration office. In addition, for a few odd current awards (eg, NIH Director’s Pioneer Award) and in preparation for electronic K & F submission next year, the Commons offers a means to track the submission of confidential reference letters (just their submission status … you still can’t read what that so-called mentor actually wrote about you).
