Supporting New Faculty Recruitment to Enhance Research Resources through Biomedical Research Core Centers (P30)
LOIs due April 29th, applicatons due May 29th. Approximately $100 million of ARRA funds will be obligated by September 30, 2010. These remain 2-year awards given on the basis of a 12-page research narrative (details in RFA).
Allowable Costs: Salaries & fringe for newly hired/promoted investigators, start-up packages, “research resources that facilitate a multidisciplinary approach to the Center’s research efforts”
Unallowable Costs: Recruitment costs (advertising, travel, etc.), construction-renovation of lab-office space, “Salary support for teaching, clinical or other non-research activities“, “Salary and administrative support costs for the PD/PI”

NCI: up to 10 awards, ONE application per institution, maximum of $1M in direct costs over 2-year period
NHLBI: up to 20 awards, ONE application per institution, maximum of $1M in direct costs over 2-year period
NIA: 3-5 awards, ONE application per School or Center at each institution, maximum of $1M in direct costs over 2-year period
NIAAA: 7-10 awards, ONE application per Academic Department, maximum of $600K in direct costs over 2-year period
NIAMS: 2-4 awards, TWO applications per institution or school, maximum of $1M in direct costs over 2-year period
NIBIB: 2-4 awards, ONE application per “training” institution, maximum of $1M in direct costs over 2-year period
NIDCD: 2-4 awards, ONE application per organizational unit, maximum of $1M in direct costs over 2-year period
NIDCR: 4-7 awards, ONE application per US Dental Training Institution, maximum of $1M in direct costs over 2-year period
NIDA: 4-5 awards, ONE application per institution, maximum of $1M in direct costs over 2-year period
NIGMS: up to 20 awards, maximum of $500K in direct costs over 2-year period
NIMH: 3-6 awards, ONE application each for hiring clinician-scientists and for hiring non-clinical tenure track faculty from each institution, maximum of $1M in direct costs over 2-year period
NINDS: 13 awards, TWO applications per institution, maximum of $1M in direct costs over 2-year period
NINR: 3 awards, ONE application per US School of Nursing, maximum of $1M in direct costs over 2-year period
NCCAM (woo woo): 2-3 awards, ONE application per institution with active Integrative Medicine or Complementary and Alternative Medicine research program, maximum of $1M in direct costs over 2-year period
